It was a hero’s welcome for the AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page, although Page was clearly angry about everything that went down last week with MJF. He called out MJF and when the music hit, no one came out.
All of a sudden, Tony Schiavone started relaying messages to Hangman from MJF, noting that Page had to stay in the ring until he was done with the threat of something bad happening.
The camera revealed MJF somewhere hidden in the building with a tied-up Mark Briscoe surrounded by Ricochet and GOA. MJF poured gasoline on Briscoe and said the only way to stop him from setting Briscoe on fire was to agree to three stipulations for their AEW World Title match at AEW Forbidden Door.
First, the title can change hands by disqualification. Second, the title can change hands by countout. And finally, MJF could have the match without executing his Casino Gauntlet contract. Before Briscoe was set ablaze, Hangman agreed to the stipulations and Briscoe was left alone by his assailants. Page went rushing to the back with a chair.
